Prestbury Parish Council are delighted to have been able to help the residents of Bush Court in their Community Action Project by funding the purchase of equipment to construct and maintain raised beds for growing vegetables.
In November 2021 PPC was approached by Police Community Support Officers to ask if we would be able to assist and parish councillors visited the residents on a fact finding mission.
Permission for the initiative was sought from Cheltenham Borough Homes Ltd. the Bush Court landlord, and was granted in June.
The residents and the Prestbury Parish Clerk sought advice from “Cheltenham is Growing”, who offer assistance to beginners in vegetable growing, and arranged to purchase the required supplies.
These photographs show the construction of the raised beds, the secure storage facility and wheel barrow. Soil is also to be delivered as well as a selection of gardening hand tools.
It’s great to see this initiative growing 🙂
Well done to all involved.
