In accordance with the provisions of the Representation of the People Act and the Electoral Administration Act 2013 Cheltenham Borough Council must undertake its next compulsory review of polling districts and places within the local authority area between 1 October 2023 and by 31 January 2025.
The review will commence on Monday 30 September 2024 for public consultation and will end on Monday 4 November 2024.Once concluded, final proposals will be collated and then considered by Full Council on Monday 16 December 2024.
What is a Polling District?
A polling district is the area created by the division of a constituency, ward or division into smaller parts, within which a polling place can be determined which is convenient to electors.
What is a Polling Place?
A building or area in which polling stations will be selected by the Returning Officer.
What is a Polling Station?
A room or building where the poll takes place, chosen by the Returning Officer for the election and publicised on the Notice of Poll or the Notice of Situation of Polling Stations and communicated via poll card after the Notice of Election.
Any elector can make representation, which may include proposals for specified alternative polling places.
The Acting Returning Officer for the Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Parliamentary Constituencies have made formal comment as part of this review both into the existing polling stations used and the polling stations that would probably be used based on any new recommendations.

The review will commence on Monday 30 September 2024 and all proposals should be made in writing, by email or web form and received by the Electoral Services Office by Monday 4 November 2024.
