Clerk to the Trustees – Prestbury United Charities

We have an opportunity for a Clerk to provide effective support and administration for the Board of Trustees of Prestbury United Charities (PUC). PUC is a registered charity which offers financial assistance to people in need. The charity has legacy money held in trust, and it is not a fundraising organisation. We wish to recruit a self-employed Clerk to the Trustees, responsible for management of applications and administration of Trustee business:
- attend meetings, work up agenda and take minutes
- receive applications, ensure completeness, disseminate them to trustees and action decisions agreed.
- manage information effectively in accordance with legal requirements
- maintain and update PUC website and Charity Commission entry
- provide financial records and book-keeping support to the Trustees
Rate: £15 per hour
Hours: Flexible, approximately 10 hours per month including attendance at Trustee meetings, currently held monthly during office hours.
The clerk will work from home and, as a freelancer, will be responsible for all income tax, National Insurance and/or other payments in connection with fees paid for the work. Some flexibility in working hours may be required.
Previous experience or training in the role of a Clerk, knowledge of charity legislation and excellent IT and organisational skills would be an advantage
